Extreme Mustang Makeover and Mustang Challenge

in Fort Worth, Texas, September 18-21

Our very own Ron Choate was selected along with 199 other contestants to participate in this fantastic event where wild horses become trained and talented mustangs. The mustangs were picked up between June 12-14,2008 The trainers then took the Mustang to their training facility where they will had until September 18, 2008 to return to Ft. Worth, Texas for the Extreme Mustang Makeover. At that time the trainers competed in three areas - conditioning, citizenship (ground work) and riding the "Horse Course" (trail riding with obstacles). A panel of accomplished judges determined the winners. $50,000 in cash and prizes was awarded. Please visit www.extrememustangmakeover.com for more information on this annual event.  On June 13, 2008, Ron drove to Pauls Valley, OK to pick up his mustang. Paperwork was confused and a mustang had not been designated to Ron. Ron says that there were a few extra mustangs on site for such an occasion. The first mustang to break from the herd was his. From horseback, Rons chosen mustang was loaded into a trailer. "Nachief" as he is called now is proving to be one smart and kind guy. Above is a slideshow of Ron and Nachief throughout the training process and putting on a show in Fort Worth.
